Dogs On The Go

There are numerous Dogs On-the Go Events that take place throughout the year at a variety of venues. Our members enjoy getting out and interacting with others in the community.

New Guidelines for Dogs-On-The-Go Event Participants

  1. Certification Requirements: Dogs must be DOGS-On-The-Go tested, or hold CGN/CGC (Canine Good Neighbour) certification, or be a registered therapy dog,  prior to attendance at events.

  2. Handler-to-Dog Ratio: Each handler may bring one dog to an event. A second dog may be brought, but only one dog is allowed to be uncrated at a time.

  3. Care and Control: The dog must always be under the care and control of the handler or another SSMKC member.

  4. Distance Protocol: Please maintain appropriate distance around other teams to ensure everyone's comfort and safety.

  5. Reactive Behaviour: If a dog is exhibiting reactive behaviour, the handler must actively work to redirect the dog. If the behaviour continues, the team will be asked to leave the event. The team will need to be re-evaluated before attending future events..
